Apariție editorială: Revista „Remembrance and Solidarity Studies”

Ultima apariție a revistei Remembrance and Solidarity Studies este dedicată în întregime memoriei Europei despre anul 1989 și apare cu ocazia celei de a 25 aniversări a căderii comunismului. Revista Rețelei Europene Memorie și Solidaritate este deja accesibilă, în versiune electronică, pe pagina de internet www.enrs.eu/studies. Autorii numărului de față, printre alții Antoni Dudek, Roland Jahn, James Krafl, Balint Ablonczy, Dimitar Ganev, Burkhard Olschowsky, scriu despre importanța evenimentelor anului 1989 în Europa Centrală și de Est. 

The artistic competition „history-codes” for university students within Europe in 2014

To mark the 25th anniversary of the revolutionary upheaval in the GDR and Central and Eastern Europe, the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship is running its tenth artistic competition „history-codes” for university students within Europe in 2014: Students in Europe are welcome to join the Contest „history-codes 2014: Falling Walls. Freedom as an European Challenge”. The Foundation is very much looking forward to receiving their creative ideas of what is freedom for them, 25 years after the fall of the Iron Curtain! Students from Universities in Europe are appealed for sending their ideas to us until 31th of August. The winners, who will be chosen by an independent jury, will win a prize money all in all about 6.000 €.

The artistic competition is in two languages: german and english.

Call for papers: Death, Dying and the Disposal of the Body (DDD12): “Eastern and Western Ways of Dying and Death” , 2nd-5th September 2015, hosted by “1 December 1918” University of Alba Iulia, Romania

The main aim of this conference is to bring together anthropologists, historians, sociologists, psychologists, and physicians from all over the Europe and other countries and to attract original papers on topics including, but not limited to the following areas:

1. Humanistic Perspectives on Dying and Death (integrating in an interdisciplinary manner history, anthropology, art, philosophy, music, sociology);

2. New ritualisations of death in the 21st century;

3. Bereavement in post-modern society; End of life and palliative care;

4. Suicide, euthanasia and the law;

6. Bodily disposal: burial/ cremation;

7. Religion and the meaning of death.

„Fie că i se cere, fie din proprie iniţiativă, Petru Comarnescu divulgă tot, de cele mai multe ori, pe un ton neutru; în anumite cazuri, totuşi, când se referă la persoane pe care le antipatizează sau care l-ar fi nedreptăţit, comentariile devin acide, iar informaţiile sau insinuările, compromiţătoare. Îşi găsesc aici o supapă şi frustrările (acute) sociale şi intelectuale ale lui Petru Comarnescu. Iată-i, prinşi ca într-un insectar, pe toţi cei care nu i-au acordat importanţa meritată!

Verdictul moral nu poate fi decât unul de vinovăţie; excesul de zel anulează până şi circumstanţele atenuante care s-ar fi putut altminteri invoca (marele vinovat, în toate, fiind regimul comunist). Însă valoarea literară a multor pagini este indubitabilă. Laolaltă, alcătuiesc un fel de Comedie umană a lumii intelectuale şi artistice româneşti din anii ’50 şi ’60. Petru Comarnescu şi-a ratat «marea operă» a vieţii. Să o fi reuşit agentul Anton?” (Lucian BOIA)
