The Сenter for Cultural Studies of Post-Socialism and
the Institute for Comparative Studies of Modernity, Kazan (Volga Region)
Federal University (Кazan, Russia), with support from Mikhail Prokhorov
Foundation, are pleased to announce the call for participation in an
international workshop on property in Post-Soviet societies.
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together scholars
to discuss sociological and anthropological perspectives on property in
Post-Soviet societies.
We are looking for the participants whose original empirical
research or theoretical paper deal with, among others, the following topics:

Cultural
Ideals and Ideology of Property
·
Local
Representations and Practices of Property
·
Soviet
Practices of Property in Post-Soviet societies
·
Gender
and Property
·
Religion
and Property
·
Ethnicity
and Property
The working languages of the workshop are Russian and
English.
The workshop will take place in Kazan on October 20 – 21,
2012. The deadline for submitting paper proposals is September, 20, 2012. The notification on acceptation will be sent
no later then September 25, 2012.
Abstract of 200 - 250 words should be sent to Nikolai Karbainov, coordinator of
the workshop at nkarbainov@gmail.com
Thanks to support from
the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation, the workshop organizers are able to cover all
transportation and accommodation costs.
